As more ultra-wealthy move to South Florida and become full-time residents, houses are being reimagined as multifunctional environments prioritising privacy, performance, and flexibility.

Katie Earl, Creative Director at HBA Residential – known for large-scale luxury projects with Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton and Mandarin Oriental, reflects in the Robb Report on what it means to design for the ultra-wealthy in Miami today, where full-time residency has redefined expectations around privacy, flexibility and the role of the home itself.

At The Delmore Residences in Surfside – an oceanfront project by Zaha Hadid Architects – Katie leads an interior vision rooted in intention. As she puts it: “Wellness is at the heart of it, not as an add-on, but as a framework for the whole environment.” This means thinking beyond individual amenities and focusing on how a residence functions day to day, from daily routines to long-term stays.
