Set in a mountainous precinct, Japan’s first Hotel Indigo brings the brand’s signature neighbourhood storytelling to life, offering guests immersive experiences that celebrate Hakone Gora’s history, stunning vistas, local cuisine and hot springs culture. The design draws on the elemental forces of fire and water: fire from sacred traditions and water from the region’s pure hot springs. Together, they capture Hakone’s essence as a premier retreat. The restaurant overlooks a local river lined with Sakura trees, transforming with the time of day and changing seasons, while the enduring beauty of Hakone prevails throughout.
