A design collaboration between Coopers Hill, HBA Architecture, and Interiors, The Chedi Xinchang (renamed Ahn Lan Xinchang) spans four riverside parcels and a hilltop. The design of this 92-villa boutique resort honours the area’s natural beauty, integrating local materials, construction techniques, and native plants.
With panoramic views of tea plantations and the famous 19 peaks of Xinchang, the landscape blends seamlessly into its serene, dramatic surroundings.

“The landscape design of Ahn Lan Xinchang embraces the site’s dramatic setting along the Hanfei River, working with the contours, materials and vegetation of the land rather than imposing upon it. Spread across riverside and hilltop parcels, the resort is shaped by local craftsmanship and ecology, where native forests and tea plantation terraces define the guest experience. Every element was designed to feel as though it has always belonged here, authentic, tranquil and deeply connected to the spirit of Xinchang.”
