With over 40 years of experience in hospitality design and a portfolio of distinguished accolades, Kathleen Dauber leads the execution of high-end, mid-sized, and large-scale projects at HBA Los Angeles. Her expertise spans a wide range of styles and sectors, ensuring that each project – from architectural layout and concept development to the final selection of furniture, fixtures, fabrics, and finishes – reflects a cohesive and distinctive design vision. As a partner and lead designer, Kathleen is deeply committed to aligning every detail with the unique identity of each HBA interior.
In 1984 Kathleen began her journey at HBA under the mentorship of founders Howard Hirsch and Michael Bedner, starting as the firm’s resource librarian and advancing to Designer, Sr. Designer and Associate ultimately promoted to the Partner position in 2004. Her career includes contributions to more than 100 projects across 15 countries, all while remaining actively involved in the firm’s growth and evolution. In addition to her design leadership, Kathleen serves as a key leader and mentor at HBA Los Angeles, a role she crafted to guide emerging designers in developing their creative voices and understanding the practicalities of design implementation.
In 2018 Kathleen was awarded Design Executive of the Year Lodging Industry Elite Awards.
